Makes approx 14 bites
INGREDIENTS:
2 tbsp vanilla vegan protein powder
60g cacao butter
40 cacao powder
2 tbsp cacao nibs
6 tbsp maple syrup
40g ground almonds
40g gluten free oat flour
METHOD:
- Melt the cacao butter in a bowl over a pan of simmering water
- Combine all the dry ingredients together then add the cacao butter and maple syrup
- Mix together until a thick paste forms
- Leave to cool slightly so the mixture has set enought handle
- Roll into balls and leave for an hour to set
- These can be stored in the fridge but the texture is best when left at room temperature
I created these chocolate protein bites after a workout when I needed something with protein in but also something to satisfy my chocolate cravings. These taste like dark chocolate fudge it’s hard to believe that there is nothing bad in them! They have been described as being like those rich chocolate truffles you get in boxes at Christmas!
