Chocolate is my favourite thing so I love creating healthy recipes incorporating it. This chocolate protein frozen smoothie bowl is so thick and creamy it feels a bit too naughty to have for breakfast! With the added protein powder and peanut butter this nicecream bowl provides a nutritious and healthy breakfast with a blend of protein, fat and slow release carbs. This recipe is also great poured in a glass if you don’t fancy adding toppings.
Serves 2
INGREDIENTS:
4 frozen bananas
2 scoops chocolate vegan protein powder (1 scoop is 25g)
1 tbsp cacao powder
2 tsp maca powder
2 tbsp smooth peanut butter
100ml rice milk
Optional toppings:
Fresh berries
Cacao nibs
Homemade gluten free granola (I used: http://www.nutritiouslynaughty.co.uk/walnut-and-vanilla-granola/)
METHOD:
- If you don’t have a powerful blender then leave the bananas out of the freezer for a few minutes before blending
- Add the bananas, peanut butter and rice milk to a blender until the bananas have almost broken down
- Add the maca, cacao and protein powder then blend again until thick but smooth
